as promised, one or two pics. The first one is Maureen's dad, Leonard Knight who worked as an SEN, but also as the Mortuary technician, who prepared the bodies for the visiting pathologist. The photo shows him in his mortuary clothes. I'm not sure of the 'celebrations' on the two Menzies House pics but there are one or two faces that people might enjoy putting names to. The picture of Sadie & Sister Michael was taken when Maureen's parents lived at Villa House, latterly part of the adolescent unit. Funny how many Irish Catholics either went into nursing or the church. Sister Michael was Maureen's aunt, who worked as a primary school teacher in New York. The two pics of Sadie and Len on the cricket pitch, were taken during their courtship in the days when staff were not allowed to socialise within the hospital. Len was one of those staff who played in the hospital orchestra, having played the trombone during his days in the Royal Marines, and on demob came to work at St. Edwards.
