Hi, I really like your website as I was brought up in Cheddleton and regulary went to the pictures in the hospital. I'm 45 now and living in Leek. My dad John Porter worked there in the stores and my mum Jeanette Porter many years before that on nights. I'm doing some family history on and traced my great grandad back to working there in 1901, his name was Charles Campbell and he Married a Mary E Cope who worked there as a cook, they lived in Villa Road. Charles is in the picture about 1900?? he is also mentioned on the open air concert document, also was his notes. He worked in Menston Asylum Leeds Yorkshire 1899 before he came to St Edwards. I have enclosed a picture as it looks so similar to St.Edwards hospital, here is the link to the Asylum in menston www.highroydshospital.co.uk.
